SEPA held “Bluebook on Urban Transportation Development” Release Ceremony


SEPA held a forum entitled “Sharing and Caring—A Discussion on the Future of Transportation” on World Car-Free Day in central Beijing’s Qianmen, for its client, GoalBlue (Shenzhen) Low Carbon Development & Promotion Centre (GoalBlue). GoalBlue is a leading NGO which has called for the Chinese society to attach more attention to green commuting, urban street development and the safety of traveling in cities. 



Attending the ceremony were city transportation and construction experts from around the world, including Jannette Sadik-Khan, former director of New York City’s Department of Transportation, Richard Liu, Regional Director at Institute for Transportation & Development Policy and Liu Daizong, director of China Sustainable Cities Program and China Transport Program. The experts made in-depth discussions regarding urban transportation and low-carbon life and shared some of the key contents of the bluebook.

Scholars and experts at the forum urge further discussions on urban and environmental management. They believe that advanced concepts and methodologies should be applied to enhance road safety, reduce the costs of managing the urban transportation system, and improve the connivance for commuters and residents. They hope that the platform provided by GoalBlue for communication will develop and attract the voice of more experts. Together, “green commuting” and sustainable urban development can be achieved.
