SEPA Launched “You Can Make A Difference” Environmental Protection Classes
Do you know that recycling one ton of bottles equates to planting 41 trees? Do you know that bottles can be used to produce T-shirts and rucksacks? On September 14, 2018, SEPA launched “We care: For Our Future” campaign for Coca-Cola Beijing as part of its social responsibility strategy at Baijiazhuang Primary School.
Attending the campaign were Xu Guang, the secretary-general of China Environmental Protection Foundation and Zhan Zaizhong, the manager of Coca-Cola Beijing, as well as hundreds of students and teachers.
As the core of the “We care: For Our Future” campaign, teachers trained by the China Environmental Protection Foundation offered “You Can Make A Difference” classes at schools such as Baijiazhuang Primary School, in which students learned about garbage classification and explored ways to transform used bottles into artworks and useful tools.
Baijiazhuang Primary School, China Environmental Protection Foundation and Coca-Cola Beijing signed a collaboration agreement that promises further cooperations in devising and implementing educational projects regarding environmental protection.
This campaign has been intensely covered by a wide range of mainstream media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, China News, Beijing Daily, Beijing Business Today, CCTV Kids and BTV in 105 pieces of news reports. The news covered over 13,434,212 people and generated a commercial value that worths RMB 3,977,057. These campaigns reveal Coca-Cola’s social responsibility strategy to Chinese consumers, thereby enhancing the brand’s image and reputation.
