2007 marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between People’s Republic of China and the Netherlands. SEPA assisted the Netherlands with the development and execution of a large variety of cultural programs in China, which aim to enhance the social, economic and political relations between the two nations at such a critical time.
In 2007, SEPA helped hold Netherlands’ investment seminars in Beijing, as well as the environmental protection seminars joined by delegations from the North Holland Province and Shandong Province. Furthermore, SEPA led a group of business representatives from Amsterdam to Beijing, visiting Chinese enterprises and governmental officials. With the support of SEPA, the seminars titled “Amsterdam—bridgehead to Europe” were successfully held in Beijing and Qingdao.
In 2008, SEPA assisted the Netherlands with the implementation of a series of economic, cultural and educational programs in China. In particular, SEPA assisted with the development of the collaboration program between the Schiphol Group and Guangdong Airport Authority.
SEPA has fully utilized its media relations to deliver these programs to the wider public. Indeed, the campaigns, programs and seminars were widely covered by mainstream and official media, which attracted great interest from the Chinese populace. Therefore, these events contributed massively towards the cultural and economic collaborations between the two nations.
