Food safety is the foundation of the development of the food and beverage industry. Promoting the safety of food has been a priority for Unilever. Since 2013, Unilever Food Solutions has joined hands with China Cuisine Association and China Agriculture University to launch a series of campaigns to promote food safety. SEPA has played a fundamental role in observing the market, providing marketing strategies, designing and executing campaigns, and managing media relations.
In 2013, Unilever Food Solutions launched its Sustainable Development Action Plan in itsBeijing research and development kitchen. As the supplier of over 100,000 national catering companies, Unilever Food Solutions not only provides chefs with professional ingredients, but also focuses on how to help chefs improve the efficiency of their kitchen management and provide healthy and delicious dishes for diners.
Since the launch of the project in 2013, Unilever Food Solutions has explored food safety management experience by catering enterprises through the “Collection of Food and Beverage Safety Cases”, these, in turn,help improve food safety in the industry. Equally, Food Safety Forums were launched, where experts could discuss the topics in more depth.
SEPA has fully utilized its resources and actively assisted Unilever Food Solutions to establish cooperation opportunities with professional associations and top universities. The campaigns Unilever Food Solutions have implemented demonstrate that it is fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities, thus establishing positive government relations.
In the meantime of helping Unilever Food Solutions, SEPA has gained a deep understanding of the industry. SEPA has published the “Report on the Food Safety: the Management of Supply Chains”, which was highly praised by industry experts.
As a result of the series of campaigns on food safety, more than 500 Chinese catering companies have attended Unilever Food Solutions’ events to discuss food safety. More than 2,000 catering enterprises have participated in or actively supported the campaigns. Hence, the public relation campaigns improved business relations and benefited society as a whole.
